Some pretty good sized news...

So, I haven't been slacking on purpose since starting the Project365 thing, I promise. It has been absolutely crazy in my world lately, and I feel like that's really all I've had time to do!

First off, my boss resigned right after the new year. It wasn't entirely unexpected, but it happened really fast. The good news is that I have been moved into her position, which comes with a nice raise, which I'm sure I'll see one of these days. But on the less than exciting (although not bad news, and not really a bad thing) side, it means that I've been doing the work of two people for a little over a month now. Most of what she was doing I was familiar with in some capacity, but one project in particular really has been a bit of an ass-kicker. I'm settling into it well, though, and trying to move forward on getting someone hired in to my old position. Its just taking longer than I'd hoped.

On top of that, it seems as though I picked the absolute worst time to sign up for the final capstone for my masters. Its an 8 week prep course that culminates with a 6 hour essay question final. That happens to fall on the week of The Rock Boat. Which I knew going into it, but I had no idea that the test was definitely in that week, because there's very little information about it available on the school's website. Luckily, my professor has opened it up this week, so I can take it a little early. He recommends against doing it too early, but I feel much better doing it before the boat than waiting until the weekend I get back - who knows if I'll be sick, or just exhausted, but either way I'll be boat dumb, and that would be a bad idea. The idea is that I'll leave work a little early tomorrow, head home, and lock myself in my guest room for as long as it takes me to knock it out. Its supposed to be 6 hours and 15 minutes to answer 4 questions, but its taken me less than an hour, with distractions, to answer each of the practice questions the professor has given us. So hopefully I have some buffer room. And once that's done... My master's is OVER!!

Next week, the Rock Boat is finally here. I CAN. NOT. WAIT. I will be seeing friends I haven't seen in WAY too long, enjoying a week with no worries about ANYTHING, and not to mention the great music, weather, sun, and beaches.

Hope you've been enjoying my pictures, at least - this is harder than it sounds!!
